Drug Medi-Cal Certification
Drug Medi-Cal Administrative Functions Moved to DHCS
Assembly Bill 106 (Chapter 32, Statutes of 2011) approved the transfer of California’s Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) program from the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs to the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), effective July 1, 2012.
ADP staff worked in concert with DHCS staff and stakeholders in the alcohol and other drug field to implement a successful transfer of the Drug Medi-Cal administrative functions. A major plus in the transition is the fact that many of ADP’s knowledgeable DMC employees will continue with their DMC functions, thus spreading the institutional knowledge of alcohol and other drug treatment services to DHCS. The DMC personnel will remain at 1700 K Street in the ADP building for the immediate future.
